LEWISTON — When the Lewiston Board of Trade gathered for its first meeting in 1888, membership numbered 200.
On Thursday, the now-1,358-member Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce will hold its 125th annual meeting honoring 15 local businesses and people at the Ramada Conference Center.
Companies being recognized are Carbonite, Procter & Gamble, The Vault, Revelation Massage, each featured in a short video.
“We get to learn so much more about the award winners,” Chamber President Chip Morrison said.
New this year: The Young Professionals of the Lewiston Auburn Area will also present its two awards there, part of a yearlong effort to coordinate programming, he said.
The social hour starts at 5 p.m., dinner and awards at 6 p.m. Tickets are $50 a person. By Friday afternoon 432 people had registered to attend. Reservations close Tuesday afternoon.
“We succeed only when our members succeed,” Morrison said when asked about the chamber’s longevity. “The key for us is to continually find ways to help our members succeed.”
