LEWISTON – The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the following seminars during July. All events will be held at the chamber’s Community Conference Room, Business Service Center at KeyBank Plaza, 415 Lisbon St.

The first will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. today. The subject is “The Back Room Operation of a Well-Run Business,” and is presented by Sanborn Financial Management. It is targeted to help office managers, comptrollers, bookkeepers, accountants and owners. Cost is $25

Also today, from 12 noon-1:15 p.m., “Protecting Your Valuable Business Information,” a Chamber Brown Bag Discussion (bring lunch, beverages provided), will be presented by Bob Becker of Maine Computer Solutions. It is free to chamber members and guests. Organizations that most commonly use electronic sources to store valuable business information can learn about effective backup techniques; the how, what, when and where of virus protection, spyware protection and spam filtering; cost saving opportunities; and about wireless.

From 9 a.m.-11 a.m. on July 26, “Re-Financing Your Business” will be presented by Sanborn Financial Management. This seminar is targeted at business owners, comptrollers, office managers and accountants. Cost is $25.

On July 30, from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m., “Referrals: How to Get Them, How to Make Your Sales Explode!” will be presented by the Sandler Sales Institute. Attendees will learn: What exactly is a referral? Why do most people consider leads a referral? Feeling pushy or needy when asking for referrals? What are your best referral sources? How would getting more referrals make a difference in your business? What is the best way to approach a referral after it is given?
