OLD TOWN (AP) — Police have released the name of the pedestrian who was struck and killed in Old Town earlier this week.

Authorities on Thursday said 54-year-old Tamela Glenn was walking along Poplar Street when she was hit from behind by an SUV on Wednesday night.

Police told WABI-TV (http://bit.ly/1p03gb2 ) she had parked her vehicle at a relative’s house and was walking to her own home when she was struck.

The driver stopped, called 911 and tried to help her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
