Charles Libby Jr.


MEXICO – Charles Libby Jr., 72, died Sunday, July 22, with his family by his side at his home on Alder Street, Mexico.

He was born in Mexico, Oct. 10, 1934, a son of Charles and Iza (Cole) Libby Sr., and had attended Mexico schools.

He had been employed as a foreman at the Mexico transfer station until retirement.

He was married in Rumford, Feb. 27, 1953, to the former Madeline Capponi who survives of Mexico. Other survivors include daughters, Charlene “Cookie” Lane and husband, Ed, of Beverly Hills, Fla., Darlene Brann and husband, Mike, of Dixfield; sons, John Libby of Mississippi, Gary Libby and wife, Michele, of New Gloucester, and Phil Libby and wife, Jackie, of Mexico; a sister, Barbara Doucette of New Hampshire; a brother, Raymond Libby of New Hampshire; a half sister, Betty Hamner of Mexico; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his faithful companion, Coco.
