ChocoLArt event will benefit Meals on Wheels


LEWISTON — SeniorsPlus has announced ChocoLArt, a chocolate-tasting event and silent art auction to benefit SeniorsPlus Meals on Wheels and other programs, helping maintain the independence, dignity and quality of life of older adults and adults with disabilities.

ChocoLArt will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at the Hilton Garden Inn, Auburn.

At the first annual fundraising event, guests will sample a variety of chocolate-inspired dishes from area restaurants and chefs while browsing the silent auction’s collection of art, pottery, crafts and jewelry. The afternoon will be emceed by WCSH 6’s Brian Yocono and will also feature the sounds of Three Point Trio, an Auburn jazz band. Beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be available.

Meals on Wheels, one of the programs ChocoLArt will benefit, not only delivers nutritious meals to isolated older adults, but also provides them a safety check and friendly visit from the driver. Sometimes this is the only human contact they will receive that week.
