BATH — For the 37th year in a row, the Schooner Fare band will take the stage at the Chocolate Church Arts Center, 804 Washingston St., Bath. This event takes place at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12. Schooner Fare has won unanimous critical praise for capitivating harmonies and winning stage presence. In addition to numerous original songs on both contemporary and traditional themes, the band also writes and performs topical songs, country ballads, and maritime masterpieces that have made their name synonymous with the “Down East” style.
Chris Smither, with special guest Bill Bourne, will play at CCAC at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26. Smither is an American folk/blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter. His music draws deeply from the blues, American folk music, modern poets, and philosophers. Special guest Bill Bourne, a Canadian musician and songwriter is a multiple Canadian-JUNO award nominee and winner. Bourne’s music is diverse and rich with many traditional elements from around the world. He plays guitar and sings with a deep and soulful sound; his songs convey stories that are poetic and life affirming.
