Christian artists in concert

LEWISTON – Internationally recognized Christian artists Geoff Moore and Andrew Peterson of Nashville will present “An Evening of Compassion” Saturday, April 29, at Lewiston Middle School.

The concert will be hosted by Compassion International and The Evangelical Prayer Pastors Fellowship.

Besides his best-known job as a performer and singer/songwriter, Moore is also a music industry businessman, artist manager, nonprofit organization board member, mentor to young musicians and even a hunting guide.

He is a fervent advocate for eradicating global poverty, which now drives him to promote adoption, too.

Peterson’s love of storytelling has remained a vital part of his life since childhood. Today he’s one of Christian music’s most prolific songwriters.

His sixth album, “The Far Country,” was recorded in his hometown of Nashville, co-producing the album with piano virtuoso and bandmate, Ben Shive, and with help from Andrew Osenga. The new project features hammered dulcimer, bouzouki, piano, mandolin and, of course, plenty of acoustic guitar.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the school on Central Avenue. Tickets are $10 and are available at the Bible Bookstore and Sheer Madness on Center Street in Auburn as well as at churches throughout Lewiston-Auburn. For more information, call 795-7630.
