Church supper will benefit Beth’s House

SOUTH PARIS — The Men’s Club of the First Congregational Church will offer a pork roast supper on Friday, May 21, to benefit Beth’s House.

Beth Coffin is a West Paris woman who lives on High Street with her mom, Bonnie Coffin, and Bonnie’s partner, Gary Waterhouse. She has spinal muscular atrophy type II, two blood diseases and scoliosis that has left her wheelchair-bound.

Last year, a group of concerned residents from communities across Oxford Hills formed the Beth’s House Committee to try to raise enough money to build Beth a new home. After hearing a presentation about Beth and the building project at a recent meeting, the Men’s Club decided to help.

Paul Thornfeldt, Beth’s House treasurer and committee member, said the house construction may start as soon as next month and be completed by Thanksgiving.

The supper will have two servings: the first at 5 p.m. and the second at 6:15 p.m. Reservations should be made in advance by calling the First Congregational Church at 743-2437. For more information about Beth’s House, visit
