WINTHROP -The Winthrop Congregational Church annual summer fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28.
The fair will have even more offerings this year with the addition of two booths.
One newcomer is Susan Liddell’s booth where people will have an opportunity to see some unusual gifts items.
Liddell is an artisan who recently moved to the area and has displayed her creations at craft fairs and galleries throughout northern New England.
Her booth, called “Susan’s Special Gifts,” will include jewelry made from a variety of materials, including polymer clay, jasper, lapis, fresh water pearls and agate.
She also creates decorative switchplates for the home and her matted floral and landscape photography and etched glass paintings will also be on display.
Another new booth this year will be the “Cookbook Nook.”
There will be a selection of new and slightly used cookbooks for sale.
Other offerings will include the silent auction table, the second-time-around and the collectibles tables and the cutlery and jewelry tables.
This will be the sixth year that the fair will include the crafts from MayaWorks.
The table runners and wall hangings, purses and other creations are designed and created by Mayan women in Guatemala.
There are hackeysacks for the kids, aprons for the cooks and keychains with frog, fish, dolphin.
A giraffe motif is a new addition this summer.
Proceeds go back to the Mayan women.
The luncheon on the lawn will feature lobster rolls, chicken salad rolls, hamburgers and homebaked pies.
