LEWISTON — Two of three men charged with trashing Riverside Cemetery last week remained jailed Wednesday. One of the suspects we freed on bail.
Billie Coburn, 18, of 131 Horton St., was released Wednesday afternoon after the trio made their initial court appearance, a jail official said.
Shane Haskell, 20, of 98 Pierce St., and Jesse Macia, 18, of 125 Pierce St., remained at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn Wednesday night.
The three are charged with aggravated criminal mischief and desecration of a burial site when police arrested them on Tuesday. The men are charged with overturning headstones and vandalizing the cemetery in other ways during an overnight rampage.
While Coburn, Haskell and Macia await further court action, police said the vandalism spree remains under investigation.
