Lewiston/Auburn 5K Bridge Run

Participants cross the Bernard Lown Peace Bridge during the start of the Lewiston-Auburn 5K Bridge Run in Auburn on Sunday. The final leg of the Greater L-A Triple Crown 5K Series set its own race record of 566 competitors. Matthew Peters of Auburn won the men's race with a time of 16:36. Lillian Childress of Lewiston won the women's division with a time of 19:31.

Dan and Janet Perreault of Lewiston cross the finish line during the Lewiston-Auburn 5K Bridge Run in Auburn on Sunday. The Perreaults are two of the 566 competitors who competed in the final leg of the Greater L-A Triple Crown 5K Series. Janet ran all three races this summer, while her husband focused on training with the YMCA "Couch to 5K" program. "I did the actual training. He did the actual couch part," said Janet. "It has been a lot of fun."

McCarthy is one of the 566 participants who competed in the final leg of the Greater L-A Triple Crown 5K Series. He ran the race in 17:11 for a fourth place finish. Volunteers from left are" Nick Bourget, 17; Luc Bourget, 15; Izaac White, 14, and Justin LeClair, 16. All four volunteers are students at Edward Little High School.
