Car runs off road to avoid deer

LISBON — A passenger was injured when a Sabattus driver swerved to avoid a deer Moody Road early Monday afternoon.

Lisbon police officer Richard St. Amant said Todd Jean, 33, was driving south on the road when a deer ran in front of his vehicle. He swerved his Jeep to the left and it landed in a marshy area.

His brother, Jason Jean, 35, of Lisbon Falls, who was riding in the front seat, complained of head, neck and back pain and was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston by Lisbon Emergency.

No deer was found, St. Amant said, and damage was estimated at $250 to the bumper of Jean's 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
