AUBURN — Bus schedule changes designed to help Lewiston passengers will get public hearings Thursday.
Representatives from the Lewiston-Auburn Transit Committee will present two different schedule changes at two meetings Thursday. The first is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Lewiston City Hall. The second is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Auburn Hall.
Plans call for flipping the departure time for two stops using Auburn’s main hub on Spring Street, in front of Hannaford.
Buses bound for the Minot Avenue route, which goes from Spring Street, up Court Street to Rodman Road and back in town via Minot Avenue, would begin their runs at 15 minutes after the hour.
The downtown shuttle, which runs from Auburn to Main Street in Lewiston and back, would begin at 45 minutes after the hour.
The change will make it easier for people using the downtown shuttle to connect to Lewiston’s routes.
Another route change would add a second stop at the the Auburn Mall Apartments to the Auburn Mall route. That bus goes from Hannaford, up Center Street to Walmart and back, stopping at the Auburn Mall apartments on the way back downtown.
The change would add a stop at the Auburn Mall Apartments on the way to Walmart and the mall area.
Thursday’s meetings are open to the public.
