LEWISTON — Claire D. Bouyea, 77, of 100 Elm St., Lewiston, died Thursday, April 22, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
Born in Lewiston on March 20, 1933, she was the daughter of Bertrand and Donalda Houle Poulin. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of St. Dominic High School, Class of ’51. On October 12, 1955, she married Frederick J. Bouyea. Mr. Bouyea passed away on March 5, 1995. For many years she co-owned and managed Bert’s Restaurant in Lewiston. Always very creative, she was an artist, painting in oils and watercolors.
A member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she is survived by her sons, Bert and wife, Helen, of Lewiston; Dennis of Lewiston; Donald and longtime companion, Sheri Kuehne of Jupiter, Fla., Raymond of Lewiston, Marc and wife, Donna, of Lewiston, and Albert of North Kingstown, R.I.; a brother-in-law, Mitchell and wife, Joanne, Bouyea of Stillwater, N.Y.; grandchildren Christopher and wife, Katie, Matthew, Amy, Corey, and fiance Nichole, Aaron, Ashley, Nicholas, Nicole, Daniel, Dillon, Hailey, Brian, and Lauren; foster grandchild Oceana; and great-grandchildren Ella and Mia.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Bertrand “Specks” Poulin Jr.; an infant sister, Irene; a sister-in-law, Ruth Wolf; and her mother and father-in-law. Fredrick and Rollia Bouyea Sr.
She will be greatly missed by her many friends and loved ones.
