Claire M. Kadziauskas


BRUNSWICK – Claire Mary Kadziauskas, 81, of Longley Court, Topsham, died Saturday, May 27, at Parkview Adventist Medical Center.

She was born in New Britain, Conn., Dec. 9, 1924, the daughter of Joseph and Maryann Garczewski Kozikowski. She attended New Britain schools and graduated from New Britain High School.

On May 20, 1950, she married John A. Kadziauskas.

She worked her entire life until retiring at age 80. In 1970, she and her husband formed Jay Kay Sales Co. (a concrete accessories company) on Route 196 in Topsham, where she worked as treasurer until her husband’s death in 1981. She then continued as owner and treasurer of the business and was the owner of the business until the time of her death.

Since the 1970s she was a member of the Brunswick Emblem Club and had served as a past president and treasurer.

Surviving are three daughters, Kathleen Jones and her husband, Michael Hamilton, of Rocky Hill, Conn., Victoria Kadziauskas of Brunswick and Janet Kadziauskas of Bangor; a son, John J. Kadziauskas and his wife, Alinda, of New Gloucester; a sister, Hedy Karnecki of New Britain, Conn.; a brother, Jerome Kozikowski of North Franklin, Conn.; and five grandchildren.
