CLT’s history will be ‘food for thought’

LEWISTON — The Senior College “Food for Thought” luncheon program series on Friday, March 12, at USM/Lewiston-Auburn, will host Auburn resident Janet Gibson in a presentation about the Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre.

Her subject will be the theatre group’s history from its founding in 1940 to the present, including some humorous backstage stories.

Gibson has been an active member of the Community Little Theatre since 1952, when she appeared in their first musical production, “Kiss Me Kate.” Since then, she has appeared in many other productions, most recently in “Crazy for You.”

Gibson is also on the board of directors and is the season ticket chairwoman, and she currently serves as the historian/archivist of the CLT, the longest continuously running amateur theatre in Maine.

Senior College, now in its 11th year, presents the monthly noon program in the Function Room 170 at USM LAC. The cost, which includes lunch, is $7 with advance reservation or $8 at the door, opening at 11:30 a.m.

Reservations must be made no later than noon Thursday, March 11, by phone at 753-6510. Any late callers will be considered as “at the door.”
