CMCC to host business seminar


AUBURN – On March 20, Central Maine Community College will host one of the governor’s regional conferences on small business and entrepreneurship. The conference will be held from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and will include over two dozen workshops, seminars and panels. Afox is the name of the conference as it includes Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin Counties.

As part of the conference, there will be a resource fair with exhibitors from business assistance organizations and the conference sponsors. Registration for the conference is $25 per person. Purpose of the conference is to help people involved with small, emerging and micro businesses gain skills and knowledge that will help them in their role of sustaining and growing Maine’s economy. Workshop topics were chosen to provide practical training, advice and information that attendees will be able to use the very next day. Topics include: marketing, promotion, Web site presence and development, financing, tax considerations, human resources, leadership and legal matters.

The luncheon keynote address will be by Michelle Neujahr, nationally acclaimed entrepreneur, speaker and author. Her topic will be “Building a Better Business: Strategies for Increasing the Bottom Line.”
