Photography by Scott Ainsworth and paintings by Neiley Harris are on display in the main lobby at CMMC near the 60 High Street entrance.
Monmouth resident Ainsworth, who grew up in Vermont, served in the U.S. Army during Operation Desert Storm and was later assigned to military bases in Germany and Texas. After his military service, he earned an associate degree in automotive technology from Vermont Technical College. He married in 1999 and he and his wife moved to Monmouth in 2008.
“My photographic addiction really began on our honeymoon in 1999 when we toured the coast of Maine and discovered the great eastern seacoast. From there it’s been non-stop shooting of everything from lighthouses on the coast to what northern New England offers on a daily basis,” said Ainsworth.

Harris, also of Monmouth, has been painting professionally for over 15 years. She studied watercolor techniques and initially painted in that medium, but she has since expanded to acrylic and oil painting. Her strong use of color and bold subject matter are becoming more and more evident as her art evolves.
“I am painting and teaching from my studio in Monmouth,” said Harris. “I am mostly self-taught, though my mother [Annette Lavallee] is a professional artist and mentored me from early on.”
