Colbath expects to represent Waterford

OXFORD – William Colbath will soon hold the vacant seat for a Waterford representative to SAD 17’s Board of Directors.

Colbath expects to be appointed by selectmen, he said at Tuesday night’s school board meeting.

The seat has been vacant since at least November. Colbath will serve until the town meeting in March, when he would have to be elected to continue.

Colbath has lived in Waterford for two years, moving from Portland where he worked with computer systems. He is now retired.

He formerly was a volunteer tutor for inner-city children.

“I’m very interested in the late-blooming student,” Colbath said, and “being an advocate for the teacher.”
