L. Carrier: Politicians haven't got a clue

I would like to comment on the Chick-fil-A controversy.

In these times of economic hardship, you would think that politicians would be more focused on bringing in new businesses and creating more jobs. Instead, they are focused on a man's opinion.

Granted, his opinion upsets many people, but they are just words.

What is more important, gay marriage or the growing number of homeless and starving children? I am sure that many would be grateful for the opportunity to earn a paycheck.

This just shows that politicians and government officials still have no clue about what is important. The nation is falling apart and they choose to focus on a comment about gay marriage.

More than words.

The big issue isn't that Chick-fil-A sees homosexuality as a sin. It's that the company donates money to organizations that actively fight against LGBT rights to the extent they say homosexuality should be illegal(Family Research Council).

It's one thing to say I don't want to eat somewhere because they think differently than I do. It another to say "I don't want them making money off me because they use that money for things I consider morally repugnant."

1. Most, if not all,

1. Most, if not all, politicians don’t have a clue what it takes to create jobs.

2. You emotional play, using starving children, detracts from your point. The only way a child will starve in this country is if their parent(s) are neglecting their responsibility. Food assistance is ubiquitous in this country.

You go Larry

In this day and age, it is more difficult to find/elect "Statesmen/Stateswomen. As all our Politicians have no concern for Constitutional priorities.

Amen brother!

Larry, you are a shining light of reason in a sea of darkness. Great observations. We can and should change this at the ballot box in November and put an end to this political misdirection. IT'S ABOUT JOBS AND THE ECONOMY. Let's make a change in November and get on with the business of job creation and put our fellow Americans back to work and create jobs for our young people coming out of our school, colleges and universities. That's what's important and that's why we should elect the team of Romney and Ryan in November. I'm proud to live in the same town with you!
