Scouts host recruiting event at LHS

LEWISTON — On Saturday, area youths will have the opportunity to check out the "Wide World of Scouting" during a recruiting event at Lewiston High School's football practice field from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Participants will enjoy some old-fashioned fun with three-legged races and a tent-pitching competition, as well as an introduction to many of the local Scouting units, leaders and Scouts.

Youth tickets may be purchased for $5 each and include lunch and a custom event patch. While the event is geared toward youths 6 to 20 years of age, the whole family is welcome to join in.

For more information on local Scouting units go to http://beascout.org or call Scott Verrill at 592-8077.

Tron, Yes I was the person

Tron, Yes I was the person responsible for putting this together and am quite proud to have been able to do it. Trustworthy, loyal helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent are 12 great reasons to support Scouting.

Not the type of group that

Not the type of group that should be using public school facilities. They have a right to exist, but should NOT be supported by public funds. Betcha bobby reed is behind this.
