S. Drane: Needs to be changes

The South's Republican Party voting record has an extreme bias against President Obama. Historically, it is interesting how the southern states were largely Democratic until the equal rights voting legislation was enacted in the 1960s. Racists made special efforts to be against blacks. Their fathers and grandfathers also had no trouble being against black women. There is still a stigma against a black man being married to a white women.

Coming from Kentucky, I am particularly ashamed of Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., stating in 2008 how he was planning to get Obama out of office in 2012. Such negativity.

There needs to be major changes in Washington. It is no wonder why Sen. Olympia Snowe is getting out. She must be sick of the Republican Party's passivity — rejecting any cooperation or compromise.

No, no, parrot. You must pay

No, no, parrot. You must pay closer attention. The letter was not written by Leonard Pitts, Jr.

This is getting pretty deep.....

Everyone hates Obama, He hasn't accomplished anything in four years, he needs to go. That's all I hear, and to be honest I'm sick of it. Some of you people can drag this out as long as you like, I don't care. What I do care about is the truth.
Republicans made a point four years ago. They were upset that they lost. To Bad. That is not my problem. It became my problem when they declared that Obama would only serve one term, it was a not so subtle act of stupidity. Since that time, bill after bill has been held up or cancelled or whatever it is they do to prevent any progress being made that could remotely be credited to Obama. What has that accomplished? Nothing, just a lot of people waiting for something to be accomplished, anything. Evey time I hear these bleeding hearts complain that Obama hasn't accomplished anything, it should be very clear to any intelligent person. Nothing has been accomplished because Republicans would not let it happen. They have shown their true selves and what they really feel for the public in general. Total disregard for anything but their own gains. Quit acting like a bunch of five year old's, and start thinking of someone other than your selves. To many people are hurting right now, the last thing they need is petty bickering. Four years of that is enough. Start working for the people.....

Frank, Do you know what many

Do you know what many of the readers are tired of? We are tired of all the excuses from left.
The Obama administration controlled both the House and the Senate for nearly two years. That is the Republicans did not have the numbers to stop much of anything.

This Administration and its followers accomplish nothing but making excuses; isn’t that more indicative of 5 year old behavior?

That is point 1.

Point 2 is that many Americans do not want any the remedy this administration is prescribing - more government control over our lives, more bureaucracy, more spending, and larger debt. I applaud all who oppose following the European style of government, which Obama is driving us toward. BTW, if you have not noticed that style of government is in economic distress due to its tax and spend policies.

And, in November, you and the

And, in November, you and the democrats will have four years to make Romney a one term president. See how that works?

FRANK EARLEY's picture

If thats what it would take to get something done....

If electing Romney would accomplish anything I'd vote for him. If Obama would accomplish something I would vote for him. If the Parrot could do a better job, I'd vote for him. What I'm saying is it doesn't matter who's in office. Partisanship is the biggest enemy. Everyone thinks their answer is the one and only. Well that don't cut it in the real world. Everyone needs to work together, the days of "them" and "us" need to end. Between the Atlantic ocean and the Pacific ocean, there's this big plot of land. No one person or entity is going to rule that plot of land. The sooner we all understand that and start working in the same direction, then, and only then will anything get done....

Sorry Steve, didn't mean to forget you out there in the middle of the Pacific......

Frank, Other than basic

Other than basic services, such as interstate HWYs, national defense, trade, what do you want the government to provide for you other than what it is already trying to do - do you want a personal asswiper at the taxpayer’s expense?

I would mention what the Obama administration is doing to the same anatomical function, but let’s keep this a family paper.

I'll take the high road.

Paul, My guess is that Obama

My guess is that Obama has not granted the correct benefit yet that some are looking for from their government. Moreover, they know there is no chance of getting said benefit from Romney.

I read many comments claiming that Republicans are blocking Obama, but I rarely read of any specifics – blocking what, higher spending?

Without specifics, it is just another partisan talking point.

Compromise is

what has gotten "U.S." in the fiscal and social quagmire we find ourselves in. We have been "compromising" the Constitution ,the Supreme Law of the Land, by most that have been sent to our various legislatures through out the 50 states. We certainly "need changes" or surely the last candle light of freedom will go out !

The "Missouri Compromise of 1820" is what brought Maine

into existence.

Otherwise you'de still be a Mass-hole, Jim.

That candle is under siege right now.

There is a coordinated effort, foreign and domestic, to make it illegal to say anything about Islam except saccharine adoration. Of course that would violate the 1st amendment, and the effort is not to amend the Constitution. That requires a lot of time and heavy lifting. The effort is to subordinate the Constitution to the new world order, as described by those wonderful guys and gals at the UN.

When that's successful, the next step is to make it illegal to say anything about Obama except saccharine adoration. Most of the US media operates as if it were already "law".

When that happens, the candle is snuffed and forums like this will be history.

RONALD RIML's picture

These efforts to 'Make it illegal.....

How about posting the proposed laws and their sponsors, Mike.

Then we can see where you are getting your information from.

Plenty of people ...

... want Obama out of office in 2012, for his failed policies and his four-year campaign for more of the same. If you say it's only because of the color of his skin, it's pretty clear who is the real racist.

In 2008 Obama was not bashful about explaining his desired "fundamental transformations". Instead of being ashamed of McConnell, you should be proud of him for being able to see the truth through all the pretty camouflage.

How many people do you think

How many people do you think voted for him ONLY because of the color of his skin and will do so again in this upcoming election? He got in because he was black, but he's not going out because of it; he's going out because he's incompetent.
