W. Lutz: Accountable for gasoline price

How come, when George W. Bush was president and a barrel of oil was almost $140 and a gallon of gasoline was close to $4 it was his fault, along with his oil buddies, and he was ripped apart for it.

But with oil at $90 a barrel and gasoline at almost $4 a gallon, now, all of sudden President Obama has no control over it and should not be held accountable?

That is so hypocritical and shows that some people are so partisan. I don't hear any outcry from the media or the left to hold anyone responsible.

So why does everything cost so much? Simply because if it costs more to transport, then it will cost more to buy.

William Lutz, Auburn

George said...

...he wasn't responsible, either. Presidents hardly ever have anything to do with the price of oil.

George Bush was an Oil Man and Baseball Magnate

Barack Obama was a Community Organizer and a Constitutional Law Professor.

Now which one logically has some background and buddies in the Oil Industry there, William?

Think ya got it????

Moreover Ronald, one deals

Moreover Ronald, one deals with maintaining payroll, and the other deals with, hmm let me think, idealism? Hey, has Obama ever created any jobs?

So, Bush was responsible for

So, Bush was responsible for his gas prices because he had friends in the oil business, but POTUS had questionable friends in Chicago who had nothing to do with oil, so that makes BHO blameless of any gas prices during his administration. Nice.
Guilt by selective association; innocence by selective association. Nicer.

O.K. - You got me.

Bush was never sober enough to realize he was in the oil business.........

Yeah, but on the drunkest day

Yeah, but on the drunkest day of his life, he knew there weren't 57 states and he also knew that a corpsman was not a corpseman.

Welcome to partisans

Welcome to partisans politics. This president, more than any other president I've seen in my adult life, cannot or will not take responsibility. Haven't you noticed this administration as excuses for everything, even Obama's poor performance in the first presidential debate with Romney.

I don't know about you or other readers, I'm sure tired of excuses.

Ask Altitude Al Gore. He'll

Ask Altitude Al Gore. He'll tell you why oBAMa performed poorly in the debate.

If I had my druthers......

I'de rather have Obama show up at a debate and not take responsibility for his poor performance......

Than have Romney and his sons not show up at any Military Recruiting Offices and have his apologists cover their sorry asses for it. (Especially since Romney protested "Anti-Draft Protestors" at Stanford back in '66)

The fact that you have to go

The fact that you have to go back to 1966, Romney’s youth, to find something to criticize him about speaks volume of his character.

With Obama or Biden, I just have to go back a week or two to find something to criticize.

Ronald Riml, do you have any contemporary and relevant examples that you want to present?

How much time did "citizen"

How much time did "citizen" obama spend in the U.S. Military? That saw about Romney's five sons not having done military time has lost most of its teeth. We get it. Oh, how much time did Slick Willie spend in the U.S. military?

Neither Obama nor Clinton have been War-Hawks as Romney

Romney's the one talking big.

But he ain't shit. Unless it's with other folk's kids and other folk's money......

And that Chicken-Hawk Express 'Saw' is still sharp as ever.......

Being a draft dodger is ok as

Being a draft dodger is ok as long as one is a democrat and a chicken hawk? If we were as aggressively anti-obama as you are anti-Romney, we'd be called racists, wouldn't we?

Criticizing Romney is one

Criticizing Romney is one thing, but criticizing his sons, that I don’t understand.

Why does Ronald extend his anger to his children?

What would people call you if you attack Obama’s daughters as vehemently as Ronald attacks Romney’s sons?

That is an excellent point,

That is an excellent point, but there is one thing you must remember, Mark. democrats/liberals can say anything they want to whom and about anyone they wish. It is republicans/conservatives who must watch what they say or risk being called racist, bigot, homophobe, or mean spirited.

Clinton – Serbia,

Clinton – Serbia, genocide
Obama – Afghanistan, killing Americans with drones.
Romney – So called chicken-Hawk according to Ronald Riml.

One of these things is not like the other, one of these things don’t belong.
Ronald, make sure you check under you bed tonight – there may be a Romney chicken-hawk next to the boogieman.

Let's deal with what is, not your fears.
