What will Catholics do in 2012? Will they, once again, vote against life, marriage and religious freedoms? In 2008, half of all Catholics voted for the Democratic party.
Democrats made it clear at their convention they do not want religion or God in their platform. The theme was contraception, abortion and gay marriage. Speaker after speaker assaulted the Church and its beliefs. Not only must contraception and abortion be made available to employees, but now the Church must pay for them, against its core beliefs.
President Obama believes in abortion. He has now signed on to gay marriage.
Gay marriage is not about anyone gaining rights but, rather, everyone losing rights. Officials promise religious organizations will be protected but, as has been witnessed, it only takes one liberal judge to overrule a protection.
Freedom of religion and religious rights are almost gone. The right to raise children with the parents' beliefs, going as well.
It amounts to the most radical stance against people of faith that this country has ever seen.
The assault will get worse. Obama and the Democrats will continue to replace God with government.
It was one thing to vote for hope and change in 2008, but to vote for a party that denied God and Israel three times at its convention — that would be religious suicide.
Again I ask, what will Catholics do in November?
Will they vote their faith or their party?

Religious freedom for me means I don't have to buy your religious claptrap. The Constitution protects me from people who wish to impose their religion on me by using the power of the government, or any other kind of intimidation to force their beliefs on me. You also have that same freedom. No one has taken it away.

You call me bias for giving my giving my opinion, because it differs from yours you will not read or listen. Then who is bias.
in the past I have voted for both democrats and republican candidates, some Iwas pleased with some I was dissapointed. The words I wrote were my feelings on this current administration. Using the rights given to me in the first admendment same as you, to express your thought no matter if the others agrees or disagrees is what makes this country so great, and why I want to keep it that way. If you are pleased with the way this country is going then vote your choice, I on another hand am not pleased and will vote my choice. I am too old and not naive enough to believe that should Romney win that the country will become an utopia, but I do believe that with Romney we have a better chance at keeping our freedoms that we now enjoy. So am I bias? Maybe, but it is my opinion whether you agree or not. I have read many of your own comments which I have agreed on or often disagreed, but never thought you as bias , but using your rights to say as you please.

I did not call you biased. Everyone is biased. Biased means having a preference.
What I was taking you to task over was the hyperbol. I will quote the offending remarks:
"Their goal is to eliminate all religious rights except of course maybe Islam. They are against the Constitution and have already started in tearing it apart. "
They have not. The democrats work inside the system, just like the republicans do. The Supreme Court gets to decide when one group has gone to far, and reels them back in. These safeguards are in place and working.
And as for religion - it has no place in politics in my opinion. How you choose to relate to your creator is your business alone. When you try and make it a justification for action is when I cry foul. It is far too personal, and basing argument on it makes it an emotional argument, and not a factual one. Like Abortion. Personally, I am not in favor of abortions under any circumstances. I think that life is precious. However, since I am not very likely to need an abortion, there won't be a chance these are pulled into question. However, when it comes to the legality of abortions, I am pro choice because I see it like I see life support and DNR. It isn't murder to remove support that a person cannot survive without. And with line at viability, the mother is a life support machine to which the fetus has no right to infringe on.
Back to the point - emotional arguments like these cloud issues and are pointless. You not going to convince someone their emotional argument is wrong most of the time. They will keep fighting regardless of outcome. I guess I'm just warning of allowing emotions to rule the argument. Keep an open mind, and relax. Just like I told people to chill when LePage was elected, I plan on doing the same on Nov 7th. Whoever wins wont ruin America.

The Catholics in this area are so used to voting for one party that they, I believe don't even think or inform themselves of the candidate or their values. We must wake up, there are no perfect political parties but as Catholics they must and should choose one that is closest to their biblical beliefs.
This present Democrat party is counter to all Christian, Catholics or Jewish beliefs, Their goal is to eliminate all religious rights except of course maybe Islam. They are against the Constitution and have already started in tearing it apart. God gave us our rights, and one of those rights is the right to choose, we may choose good or choose evil, for the last 100 years the democractic party has been pushing evil, a little at a time hoping the people would not notice until it's too late. Take away the school prayers, we surely wouldn't want God in our schools, Abortion is alright why should you be responsible for your actions, gay marriage will furthure destroy the morality of the country but that ok with the President also. But 4 years ago his poll numbers were higher and did not need the gay vote so he was against it then.We are heading for a socialist,Communist, or even as bad, or worse a Sharia Law Islamic, country. If the latter is the one then you wont have to worry about the Jews, Christians or Catholics they will make sure to eliminate those groups, they will re educate the remainder and if they do not comply, no big deal off with their
heads.
Some will say I will not vote, let God decide, God did not make man so that he can sit around and let God do everything for him, Man was created to serve God, He is there to assist but we as a people must ask in form of prayers for the grace to choose correctly, for he gave us the freedom of choice we can choose good or evil.
According to Karl Marx the biggest obstacle of communism taking over the world was the Catholic church. But sadly through the teachings in the public school and discouragement of religion we are loosing God believing people, their agenda all along.
Think of your future what do you want for your children? Think of your past all the freedoms you enjoyed that are no longer there, It's your choice, your vote, a right that may not be granted to you by the government the next time around, when he becomes a dictator. Read your history, read your bible, it is repeated over and over that socialist and communist governments do not survive.
Our Constitution based on a Republic form of government has withstood the failing of all other countries government since it was written and past. We must preserve our country our rights and freedom must not let evil gain entrance into our lives.
Register, pray, and vote, we have turned our backs on God too many times, it is time to remember who our true ruler is. It is He who let's us choose which life we will have, we have the instruction book not lets follow it.
A freedom lost will take many generations to regain. You may choose freedom or free stuff, but remember that the free stuff will dissapear when the freedom of the workers who pay taxes for your free stuff, are out of work and out of money.

Whenever one side claims the other is trying to destroy America, I stop listening. It means you've let your confirmation bias take over, and you have stopped rationally considering both sides. You are no longer a vote to be won but a part of the 30-40% ish that will vote the party line, regardless of what it is.

Ronald,
I certainly respect your opinion, but it is a mischaracterization.
The discussion should focus on limited government, not no government and certainly not an omnipotent government.
How much should any individual be forced to contribute to the government?
a. $0.10 on the dollar?
b. $0.20 on the dollar?
c. Other?

Since you fail to answer my question, I’ll assume one of the following in ascending order of likelihood it true.
1. You have no clue as to what people pay in taxes.
2. You really want higher taxes, but you are scared to commit.
3. You are scared to commit because you are extremely greedy, so greedy you don’t want to reveal how greedy you really are to the readers.
