Biggest One Yet!
In my experience, anyway. I've felt a few, in the past, where I live, in Auburn. Usually feels the same as a tractor trailer going by on Hotel Rd. Well, that night, we just happened to be visiting my girlfriend's parents, in Hollis, by the epicenter of the quake. Her sister had just said goodbye and walked out the door, when it happened. The rumble was like an explosion that shook the house. My girlfriend thought her sister's car had blown up. I thought the furnace was exploding. Her Dad thought it was a giant propane tank at a nearby business going up. Her sister came back in before we could get out the door and said, "I think a plane crashed!" We went outside, the neighbors were out, as well, with flashlights, looking around. Didn't take long for me to think, "earthquake" and I pulled up facebook on my phone. Figured if anyone knew, it was facebook! Haha. I was able to confirm it right away.

It happened again, I felt something, not quite as loud as when the "Holly Hotel" blew up, but the same as the last earthquake I felt when living in N Turner, it was over before I knew what it was. My landlord thought I put a bowling ball in my washing machine......

I was in my church in Auburn when it hit. The church often quakes when trains go by, so I thought little of it -- except that it was over sooner than usual. I've been in several earthquakes, including much bigger ones in San Francisco, and I was still fooled!

I was sitting on the porch, and I didn't think much of it. 18 wheelers drive by 50 times a day and cause about as much shaking. Odd, I thought, there weren't any trucks to be seen. Then a kid drove by with his sound system blaring out whatever it is energetic young males listen to these days. Naturally I thought, "Awesome sub-woofers!"

It shook the Hell out of My Mobile Home and Scared me. At first, I thought it was just the wind and then, I knew it was more than that. Sad so many people think it's a Joke and funny. I wasn't laughing then, and I'm sure not laughing now.

Looking back at the big one of 2012, I know I will never be the same. I think I have come to terms with it, accepting what it has done to our families and community. With all that we lost that day, I think that if we can overcome and one day thrive again, then we will truly be able to make our peace with it.
However, I was DEEPLY offended that neither candidate took the time to recognize what had happened here, and decided to still hold the debate even with the losses mounting. They didn't even bother to take a moment to pray for us or even think of us in our time of need.
As for me, I will always remember where I was when it hit: Eating meatloaf with my family, obvious that anything had happened until the internet told me of the horrors I was about to witness firsthand.
