AUBURN — Two New Auburn parks and an athletic field are the newest drug-free zones in the city, councilors agreed Monday.
The city currently lists all schools and 26 parks as drug-free zones. People convicted of drug offenses that occur within 1,000 feet of those zones face stiffer penalties.
Councilors agreed to add three new parks to that list — Tribou Field, Sullivan Square and Little Andy Park.
Tribou Field is the athletic field north of East Auburn School on Oak Hill Road.
Sullivan Square and Little Andy Park are along the Little Androscoggin River in New Auburn. Sullivan Square is the grassy area of South Main Street behind Rolly's Diner. Little Andy Park is at the corner of Pulsifer and Second streets.

I guess I have to say I don't really know what that means other than how it sounds. So these druggies that don't mind killing themselves with drugs or how they afford to buy them if they don't work or even if they do will see these signs and go do their thing in some other location? If they are that conscientious maybe they should make the city drug-free. I hate drugs as much as anyone that don't do them but I guess this only means you can keep on doing them but just need to find another location. Hope it works for other peoples sakes if nothing more.
