Why don't they have helmets on?

They are riding on his land.

They are riding on his land. No requirement for helmets, or even a registered snowmobile. A nice slow ride on a snowmobile is lower in speed than a snow tube can generate on a good hill. Any ride requires the use of common sense.

No one said anything about the laws. It would be common sense for the child to have a helmet on regardless of the speed or the fact they are on their own land.
I recall reading about a young child who fell off a 4 wheeler and had some head injuries which could have been prevented , or less serious had she had a helmet on. Yes your right, common sense should prevail.
