Wind knocks over tree in Lewiston

Daryn Slover/Sun Journal

Jayden Gumprecht, 6, plays around the tree that fell in his front yard at 140 Sabattus St. in Lewiston on Thursday morning. Gumprecht's mother, Nancy, said high winds blew the tree down at 7 a.m. "I heard a great-big crash," she said. The tree pulled wires from the house and fell across Golder Road, partially blocking traffic. A worker was at Gumprecht's home at 12:30 p.m. restoring power. "I am glad I had not let the dog out yet," Nancy Gumprecht said.
