I don't understand why this state is raising taxes.
Don't lawmakers see other states — like Kansas — getting rid of taxes to entice more companies?
Our kids need a future in this state when they graduate, and not a future some place else.
We have a beautiful state with four seasons that would be an attraction to all.

A report has just come out that the Kansas plan will result in a $782 million shortfall by 2018. Also, they plan on reducing popular deductions to even out the tax cut.
The problem with eliminating deductions to pay for tax cuts is that those deductions are fixed amounts vs the percentage of the tax cuts usually hurts lower and middle class while benefiting the wealthy. The economic meltdown has hit everyone hard over the past few years, and to then put the squeeze on those who are still recovering is only going to make matters worse.

Why did Willie Sutton rob banks? Same reason you tax the rich more than the poor. Because that's where the money is.
Higher taxes on the rich have far less disastrous effects than if that tax was on the poor.

Unless they give up their US citizenship, they still have to pay taxes. If they give up the citizenship, then good riddance. Anyone who values money more than their country is a parasite, and the sooner we get rid of them, the better.

1. “Unless they give up their US citizenship, they still have to pay taxes. If they give up the citizenship” This statement is false; one can legally or successfully illegally shield money from the IRS and maintain citizenship. In the later case, it only matters if you get caught.
2. Perhaps their point of view is that the government is being said parasite. In my opinion, the government is the parasite.
Better living through smaller government. Let's all joint the underground economy and starve the beast.

Not anymore. Perhaps you forgot about the ACA tax on unearned income of 3.8%. Moreover, those who earn over 400K single will pay 20% plus ACA tax.
Ronald never met a tax he did not like ..... when it applies to others and not him.

Another point of commonality between Willie Suttonand and taxing the rich is that they are both crimes of morality.
Just because a bank has money, does not mean it is morally acceptable to rob it. Likewise, just because the rich have money, does not mean it is morally acceptable take it (aka rob it).
