LePage blasts newspapers for 'spin'

WINSLOW — Gov. Paul LePage says he's not a fan of the state's newspapers.

LePage on Friday read a book to about 100 students at the St. John Catholic School in Winslow as part of the 2013 Catholic Schools Week celebration.

During a question-and-answer period afterward, he told students that his best accomplishment as governor is yet to come — improving Maine's public school system. He also said his greatest fear as governor is Maine's newspapers.

LePage later told the Morning Sentinel that he thinks the newspapers lack objectivity and aren't fair and balanced.

He went on to say he doesn't feel the same way about radio and TV, saying they don't "spin" the news.

What book did he read?

"My Pet Goat"? Or "My Pet Peeve"? Or "My Pet Bat in the Belfry"?

Guv'nah Hothead

With his continuing bombastic behavior, I predict the Guv'nah has less than two years to totally alienate all Mainahs. His spin comment regarding papers reflects his myopic view and that of his GOP pundits who "kiss his arse"...

The papers aren't fair and balanced???

I'm sure the good governor can still sit down with a cup of hot chocolate, and watch a night of "FOX NEWS", now that's fair and balanced.

"Improving Maine's public school system"

By reducing state subsidies and stealing casino funds for public schools? He may
give a bunch of school kids a snow job but, in my book, he doesn't pass the straight face test.

What spin?

So he doesn't like the papers to report the news, which he thinks is 'spin' when they don't like his policies.
He likes the radio and TV because they don't report what he says.

How about the truth? Newspapers report what he does and says all too accurately and he doesn't like that. He'd rather that they just 'shut up' as he's told others in person to do.

Especially when he puts his foot in his mouth and chews it thoroughly. He's done that all too many times and has gotten caught. He just doesn't like bad press.
