Red Sox announcers to meet fans in Portland

PORTLAND — Snow is on the ground, but baseball will be in the air when the Boston Red Sox TV announcing team meets with Red Sox fans in Maine.

New England Sports Network announcers Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo, along with Red Sox reporter Jenny Dell, will be meeting with fans Thursday during a meet-and-greet session at Binga's Stadium restaurant in Portland. The event starts at 3 p.m.

The visit is part of NESN's spring training kickoff tour, during which Remy, Orsillo and Dell are meeting with fans in cities across New England.

The tour began Tuesday in Vermont and wraps up Friday in Rhode Island.

On Thursday morning, the announcing team is scheduled to meet with elementary school students at St. Brigid Catholic School in Portland.

Nothing north of Portland...

...for these folks to bother with - no Red Sox fans or anything. Just doing Portland is all you need to cover Maine.
