A. Girouard: No more ethanol in gasoline

As I was reading the Sun Journal Feb. 13, I noticed the rebuttal letter to the editor by David Churchill, "Get ethanol out of gasoline."

The more I read, I realized that I didn't know all that was going on with ethanol. The biggest thing was that not all gas stations in all the states are using ethanol in gasoline.

Why are they not all using ethanol in their gasoline?

Then, reading even more, I noticed that many ethanol plants have closed down due to the fact that it cost too much to produce.

So, the folks in Washington are backing, with the taxpayers' money, something that does not work.

Seeing that ethanol in gasoline is not good for engines, costs too much to produce and, in general, is not wanted, officials in Washington should mandate that ethanol be removed from gasoline.

When did anyone in Washington ever leave you with the impression that any of them gives two s***s about any of these things? The pump price of gasoline has gone up 30 cents a gallon in the last month. In California, they're paying over $4 a gallon. When the 'Chosen One' took office gas was less than $2 bucks a gallon. Where's the outrage and the clamor from Washington? More importantly, where's the clamor and the outrage from the consumers? I guess it's all being drowned out by the chirping of crickets.

Politicians only know....

Politicians only know what they've been told, unfortunately they only listen to idiots.....

You also forgot to mention

You also forgot to mention that ethanol production raises the price of corn on the world market, which raises the price of beef, chicken, and other food products.
