The federal government can afford to cover the expenses of a golfing trip to Florida for President Obama and a skiing trip to Colorado for the First Lady and daughters. But the word is that the White House has stopped giving tours to children because of costs.
Wake up, America.

Never mind the vacations.
How much did Obama spend on his pre-sequester chicken-little tour all around the country? Now, even he admits the consequences are insignificant, so the tour was a complete waste. But, by golly, he showed those nasty Republicans by taking revenge on the kiddies. Perhaps the White House calligraphy staff can send out a note of sincere apology.

While people were all in a huff about spending on golf trips and White house tours yesterday the military announced over $800 million in military contracts. That's one day's worth. Some no doubt are important others are like that plane that is approaching a billion dollars in cost, is 5 years behind schedule and can't land. They just get us wound up about these things so we won't notice what is really going on.
