Many people believe that the Second Amendment to the Constitution guarantees them the right to use guns in any way they wish.
It was not an original part of the Constitution. It was itself an amendment to the original Constitution. Adding or changing an amendment is still an option today.
The Second Amendment reads: “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
The second part is dependent on the first part. What do the guns-at-any-cost folks not understand about “a well regulated militia”?
If you are going to talk about the Second Amendment, you can’t pick and choose the part you like.
