G. Mahmoud: Rectify the injustices

I am writing because I believe Lewiston is the latest victim of the government's ploy to take rights from the citizens. I believe we are next in line to be infected with this epidemic of blatant abuse of our great country's misguided perception that its citizens are here to serve the government.

I am in the process of building a campaign to let the citizens of Lewiston know that they deserve the rights guaranteed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Those who are familiar with the downtown area of Lewiston are aware that it has been forsaken by the city.

That is not what the Founding Fathers had in mind and constant abuse and propaganda has done irreparable harm to the downtown community.

I want the citizens of Lewiston, of the state of Maine, as well as the United States, that Americans dictate where control lies and we pass verdict on those who abuse the authority we bestow.

I do not foresee a revolution coming, but 1,000 small messages would have the same effect. Change is the effect and I hope others will see and feel the urge to come forth and want to assist in rectifying the injustices to which the downtown Lewiston patrons are constant victims, and for no just cause.

Where, when and how have you

Where, when and how have you been so maligned on Lewiston's Lisbon Street in its current state to prompt you to write your letter to the editor, sir?
What, exactly, is your point?

WOW! Lots of passion...

However Garafi, it would help if that passion came with substance. If you were more specific then people would respond and the discussion can begin. So again, what's the real issue(s)?

Excuse me, but this is bizarre.

I doubt the founding fathers had Lewiston much in mind when they ratified the Constitution.

Garafi, could you be a little

Garafi, could you be a little more specific on the things you see as injustices?
