Former fire chief wins Sabattus seat

SABATTUS — Voters put the town's former fire chief on the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday and returned one incumbent to office.

Former fire Chief Don Therrien won the most votes in the six-way race for selectman with 396, according to results from Town Clerk Suzanne Adams.

Incumbent and Board of Selectmen Chairman Mark Duquette received 348 votes to claim the second seat.

Les Gibson got 304 votes, Greg Provost had 204, incumbent Andre Marquis recieved 172 and David Marsters got 52.

Nancy Provost won the open seat on the RSU 4 school board by a wide margin, receiving 406 votes to Brad Lemay's 180 and Linwood Bailey's 151.

All of the seats in Tuesday's races were for three-year terms.

Therrien sparred with Town Manager Andrew Gilmore two weeks ago when Gilmore released a memo concerning Therrien's abrupt resignation last spring.

Gilmore said at the time he and staff had been fielding questions from residents, prompting the new details. Therrien called the timing politically motivated.

Former fire chief

Congratulations to Don. He is the top vote getter and I know he won't be a yes man to this administration. He has lived in the town and will probably pass on living here, not like the town manager who lives miles away. I will enjoy being at selectmen meetings to see some opposition matters, that the manager wants. Good luck Don.

Hilarious, Let it be written....It shows Dave how many Villagers don't want him in their town....

Jerry, Good morning. Apparently they don't want you either. Move back to Sabattus and we can sit down and talk like men over a beer in my garden.

I was there in August, I'll be back... soon

But glad to say, I don't drink, for 30 years I don't converse with those that have the SS watching their every move since bigots are people I do not associate with. No harm, no foul, but your company and invitation are both unwanted, just like those that didn't support you and vote you in more. Appears it is more of a statement to vote you out on a rail.

It might of been in your best interest that those many beers might of given you your courage to Facebook your printed attacks on the POTUS and that would be your first step to a cure. Might even help you regain some more acquaintances back following those 12 steps.

Have a good day and enjoy your retirement, because politics with all that stress and anger takes away that precious time you only have left, get a better hobby.

I was there.

Oh , I see you are a friend of Bill W. & Dr. Bob. I am not judging you, but I feel you need to do the 12 steps over again. Read the book, "Sermon on the Mount" it may help you.

Bigot, Bigoted:
"Having or revealing an obstinate belief in the superiority of one's own opinions and a prejudiced intolerance of the opinions of others."

From reading your interactions with Mr. Marsters on here, I'd say you're also bigoted, and by default spending rather a lot of time associating with at least one bigot.
As are most of us.
