LEWISTON — A man who jumped from a fifth-floor balcony Monday night to avoid arrest remained hospitalized Tuesday night.
Lt. Mark Watson of the Lewiston Police Department said John Esty Jr. of Lewiston was still a patient at Central Maine Medical Center. Additional information about Esty's injuries or condition was not available from Watson or the hospital.
Esty was charged at 9:55 p.m. Monday with a warrant for probation revocation. The 27-year-old jumped off a balcony at 295
Bates St. shortly before 10 p.m. when officers arrived to arrest him on the warrant.
He reportedly suffered nonlife-threatening injuries.
