JAY —Spruce Mountain Ski Slope is now expected to open this season after issues related to power were resolved, representatives involved said Thursday.
An agreement has been worked out between Central Maine Power Co. and other entities to allow Spruce Mountain Ski Club to use three-phase power from the Otis Mill to operate its machines.
The ski slope is scheduled to open the day after Christmas, Saturday, Dec. 26.

I went skiing there as well and had many good times! I'm really glad they are going to open after all. I wish I lived a little closer so my kids could go there. This is awesome!!

My guess is the Jacques boys had something to do with it. Their business would be affected terribly by the closing of Spruce. Whomever it was, kudos! Spruce Mountain was where I learned to ski and spent most of my winters while I was in school. It would have been a sad day to see it closed down.
