LEWISTON — Dr. David York, a family practitioner who has an office in downtown Lewiston, has been arrested and charged with five counts of possession of sexually explicit materials of children under the age of 12.
David York
York, who lists his address with the state’s Board of Licensure in Charlotte, N.C., was licensed to practice medicine in Maine in 2008. He was arrested at his home at 212 Congress Circle in Topsham Tuesday.
According to State Police, York, who is 59 years old, is a physician with Concentra Medical Centers, a national health care company that has offices in Augusta and Lewiston. According to police, York treated patients in both locations.
According to a press release, State Police Chief Col. Patrick Fleming said two computers were seized from York’s home by the Computer Crimes Unit, and preliminary examinations show “hundreds of images and videos of child pornography.”
Fleming said there are no indications that any of the images are of Maine children.
Most of the images, Fleming said, are “from file sharing with other personal computers around the country, also known as a peer to peer network.”
York’s activities came to the attention of State Police in November.

I'm happy to see that you are finally taking action by deleting comments of a slanderous nature. I have to ask, though, when will you begin to delete accounts of those who repetitively resort to insults over presentation of opinions or facts? Also, when will you censure comments of an overt or covert sexual nature such as those that refer to tea party attendees as teab@gger$. Please don't pretend to claim that this term isn't offensive - it's equally as offensive to people who are trying to reign in government spending as the "N" word is to African-American people or the "K" word to Jewish-Americans. Many of us who post here enjoy a good debate. But when that debate turns ugly, we frequently avoid this forum altogether in favor of other publications who demand a level of decorum that is, in many instances, missing here.

Well, no, I'm not going to remove comments of people who make falacious arguments. That's what a forum is all about -- to air ideas and to call out those who have bad ones.
I do try, however, to weed out the comments that the average person would deem offensive -- which includes comments of an overt (and sometimes covert) sexual nature. However, I am one person, and though I do spend an awful lot of time on SunJournal.com, I can't be everywhere at once. It's apparent that you feel intellectually threatened by anyone who can form a cohesive sentence while exhibiting accurate spelling ("whinny" should be "whiney"), proper grammar and usage ("infer" should be "imply") while debating an issue without resorting to insults, slurs and sexual smears. It is truly sad that you must go through life with an overactive need to display your ineptitude and an underactive brain, as evidenced by the tone and content of your posts. Perhaps some day you will be able to attend night classes to improve your communication skills and (maybe, just maybe) receive that GED which has been so elusive for you. Best of luck with that.
By the way, the term "teabagger" is a coarse, crass and crude (like the alliteration? go ahead, look it up) comment that only demonstrates the mental incompetence of the user.

Why not just close the account of Tron? You have already removed one posting of his that was apparently inappropriate. Yet, he continues to be inappropriate. If you were to read past posts by Tron you would see that this is an habitual pattern. Why continue to warn him? Why punish everyone by closing the comments on this thread? It's like keeping the whole class in for recess because one person misbehaved. Make the individual(s) responsible for their actions, but don't punish everyone!
