A Pyrrhic victory

I congratulate all the Democrats in the audience, and I know there are many, on their victory on health care reform, but I fear that theirs will prove a Pyrrhic victory.

If you don't know what the word means, look it up in the dictionary or read history.

Thirty-one weeks, or so, and counting until mid-terms.

Real Clear Politics took over

Real Clear Politics took over 50 diifferent polls including the CBS and Time,. both liberal diehard groups and have an average of 17% approve of Congress and 76% disapprove...funny thing is that Fox actually had higher survey polls for approval than CBS...I can only hope the dissatisfaction is remembered in November and we throw out some of the liberal socialist group who are ramming this legislation down our throats.

With the 'Party of 'No' and

With the 'Party of 'No' and Democrats still trying to get their best local advantage in the wheeling/dealing- it's no wonder.

They should have accepted reality - made it happen like big kids - and quit screwin' the goose.  But the longer they dragged it on, the more $$$$ they could suck out of lobbyists.

And this is 'Socialism?"  Forcing people to buy insurance from "Guido the Protection Racket Man?"  Bite me, Bob!!   Socialism is when Govt owns/Employs the show - not the Insurance/Health Care Industry.

November will only help if you can perpetuate the lie.

Get your brooms out. Mid terms are going to be a sweep. Then we'll see this abortion of a bill swirl delightfully around the toilet bowl where it belongs.

Yes!

I can see it now. The GOP is going to run on supporting pre-existing conditions denials, rescissions, and taking away healthcare from kids and seniors! That way they can get to the 2/3 majorities they'll need to override a presidential veto. Hooray!

Nah we're gonna run on

Nah we're gonna run on opposing 34 million more people getting free health care at our expense..

Well, glad you admit that

Well, glad you admit that certain members of society vote for those who continue their feeding at the teet of government handouts, that finally explains your liberal bias.

Hello

So what you are saying then in the overly biased opinions is to also ignore children who have cancer, people living with terminal illness, and having them dying while you explain liberal correct?  You are hardly a thinkingman go back to reading about the Uber Mench.

NO, what I'm saying is each

NO, what I'm saying is each of these changes has a cost and to say it will reduce the deficit either means cutting benefits or increasing taxes, and we all know how democrats feel about cutting anything....

Well, actually in my dreams

Well, actually in my dreams people will wake up and elect Libertarians who will point out that government handouts and mandated insurance is not in the Constitution. Sadly, however they will either elect a modern Republican who believes in "social" conservatism (hating gays and spouting off about abortion) and not fiscal or a Democrat who sees my meager bank account as a public slush fund for the lazy, crazy, and lame.

Take a look

There is a website, www.pollingreport.com/health.htm, that provides the latest data on the sentiments of americans about health care reform.  Look for yourself and decide how the country feels about this issue.

tron's picture

the only important poll

will be the one in November, which will happened months after the Democrats start showing the country what lies and misrepresentations the Republicans have been spouting all these months.  In other words, the gloves are coming off, buster, and it's not going to be pretty.  Your side may still win, but at least Americans will know the truth.

The GOP has proven to be

The GOP has proven to be nothing but a bunch of obstructionist with no interest with what is best for the American people. Why would anyone vote for them?

One word for you, Terence

veto!  And now how about an old adage, "don't count your chickens....."  In those thirty-weeks, the American people may discover the depth of your lies and misrepresentations.

thinkingman's picture

the words "I fear" are

thewords "I fear" are sentiments provided by one person, they are not lies or misrepresentations, but I guess if you can't argue with logic and fact you must still resort to calling pothers liars...nothing new here folks, move on...things must be really good on main Street in Auburn.
