Clean, renewable energy
Why do you suppose wind proponants are blocking attempts to get clean, renewable energy from Quebec Hydro? Why will industrial wind farms cause our electricity rates to double or triple? Who stands to profit from the subsidies (our tax dollars) given to industrial wind? Why is our Maine government willing to destroy our environment which brings in millions in tourist dollars?
Simple. Follow the money. And the next time your government says, "We are the government and we're here to help," you can tell them where to put their "help".

Definitely some of the scariest words in the English language, "We are the government and we're here to help,"

right wing wackos are so against democrats making money? Let's look at the figures. Nancy Pelosi owns a large interest in wind energy. Dick Cheney owns a large interest in Halliburton. Wind energy reduces are dependence on foreign oil, Halliburton reinforces it. Zero deaths attributed to wind energy, Halliburton contributes to THOUSANDS of deaths, both military and civilian. But Cheney is a republican and Pelosi is a Democrat, so naturally it is wrong for Pelosi, but fine for Cheney. What a warp sense of right these right wing wackos have.

tron, haliburtin gets their money from providing services, some to the fed some to private companies - wind energy is a subsidy because the companies cannot make money so they get a handout from the government - but maybe that explains why you agree with them getting the funds - you're both getting a government sudsidy to survive and would not be able to stand on your own two feet withoout it.

"Someone" is crying again......I guess thats the difference between he and I - I will not lump all people into one group due to nothing but hatred towards them - I may disagree with a number of people at times, but then again i may not, so why lump everyone together...

I guess I'm a left wing wacko. Try to understand that this issue does not fall neatly to the left or right. It's about the fleecing of everyone. I thought I was pro-wind until I did my homework. These companies can only do this thanks to subsidies. I get that but I wish more people like you did. I would like to hear where you got the idea that wind energy reduces our dependence on foreign oil, though. Did you get that from Baldacci? King? Someone else who has based their livelihood or future livelihood on the proliferation of wind turbines in Maine?

than the (inconsistent) wind that blows over them. Mr McKay and Mr. Tibbetts are correct. This project will affect you one way or another. Anyone--Dixfield residents, as well as, folks who just enjoy western Maine mountains for their recreational opportunities and scenic beauty. This isn't just about my backyard or your backyard. This is about one mountain ridge and mountaintop after another in every direction in western Maine. Once these 40 story tall industrial machines go up, they aren't coming down no matter what the fallout is. For those who believe that the guys from Patriot Renewables are riding in on their white horses to save us from foreign oil, think again. Folks need to show up to these meetings so they can educate themselves and to have a voice in the future of this state.

I will live in the shadow of the Turbines. I don't mind how they look. I don't mind the noise they make. I do mind that they will be built solely to make some people rich at our expense. And no they are not democrats.

Jal - I am so glad you indicated they were not Democrats, its just so easy to show with a little research how wrong you are...here's the deal - Patriots Renewables is a subsidiary of Jay Cashman Inc of Massachusetts - that would be the same Jay Cashman that gives considerable campaign donations to Democratic causes including the recent special election to replace Kennedy in MA. after his death. A simple web search will compile an incredible list of all the campaign money he has given to democratic causes.
next thing is you'll be telling us Angus King is not a democrat (elected as an independent to avoid primaries, kind of like Barbara Merrill)....hmmm....Kurt Adams ring a bell for you -

My problem with wind generation is half the cost over the long haul is subsidized funds from the fed which came from my tax dollars. Nancy Pelosi and her husband have significant stock holdings in wind energy companies and locally Angus King and other democrats have significant interests in the projects as owners and shareholders. A former director of the Maine PUC was given shares in the local widn energy company a few weeks BEFORE he left the PUC to go work for that company...what a scam, but its okay because he was a democratic appointee and major fundraiser for Ms. Pingree in Washington! Check out Kurt Adams if you don't beleive me!

You can't have it both ways. There's going to be inherent problems associated with being the dominant predator on earth.
