Heath decides against running for gov

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — Michael Heath joined Maine's race for governor and dropped out in less than a week.

Michael Heath

Heath, a former leader of the conservative organization now known as the Maine Family Policy Council, decided to enter the race as an independent on Monday. But WCSH-TV says he issued a statement Wednesday saying he quickly determined that it's not realistic for him to circulate the necessary petitions.

Independent candidates have until June 1 to collect at least 4,000 voters' signatures each to qualify for the November ballot.

Five Democrats and seven Republicans are competing in their parties' June 8 primaries for the gubernatorial nomination.

Dammit

He would have brought out the tea bagging nuts and exposed all their racist and homophobic craziness for all to see. That alone would have been worth having him in.

Just because he threw a [removed by the administrator] into the fire at a revival campfire meeting doesn't make a .... ah ........... nevermind.

Who cares if he runs or not?

Who cares if he runs or not? He is a single digit (vote %) candidate with little to add to the debate.

Mike we need you

Well I goota say that if he were to have been able to get on the Ballot it would have made things interesting. Now if you consider the fact that 'Charlie Webster' did not come to the aid of 'Green'candidate 'Lynne Williams' earlier this spring,To get on the Ballot instead Charlie was 'Basking' on the Sunny Beaches of 'President O'bamas Home State sipping on a Cool One.

Charlie should truly be breathing a 'Big Sigh' of relief' Mike certainly would have drawn from the 'R's and maybe some sensible 'Morally Minded' 'Democrats as well.

Whew' Charlie 'Dodged' a Big one there. Now how does 'Elliot 'Cutler factor into the Race?

Aw shucks, LOL

Aw shucks is just what I thought when I read the headline. Every election needs a sideshow.

Amazingly there are "Five Democrats and seven Republicans" who want this job. Why?
