Although I don't carry concealed, I fully support anyone who does so legally. Sadly, people like you only change their mind about protecting themselves and their loved ones after they become a victim of a violent crime. I suspect that you are only trying to stir up trouble on this subject, and I also suspect that you would fail the background check required to legally purchase or carry a firearm. Calling someone a coward for exercising their 2nd ammendment rights is stupid. I also think the real coward is looking back at you in the mirror.

Unless they have changed the laws since I got my permit, if you had served in the military and did not recieve a DD you did not need to take the course, just a background check and good to go.

so you carry a weapon concealed simply because you can. Well do you also rape and murder, simply because you can? FYI, I have never been rejected for a concealed weapons permit, because I have never been been cowardly enough to apply for one.

Tron, don't you think carrying a gun out in the open would make other small minded paranoid individuals (i.e.: YOU) call the police thinking there's a crazed killer on the loose. Keep it Tucked, Friar, and bust it out when it's rightfully needed...I'm with you. Tron you are seriously off your rocker. So are you saying a person is a coward if they feel the need to legally carry a conceled weapon for protection from say an armed disgruntled ex-employee? Well I experienced that twice. If you ever had the misfortune of an experience like this you would be in line for a concelled carry permit. Oh and your analogy of a murdering gun....how about when you are driving a murdering car or truck which kills more people in this country than guns. How about the lives that have been saved due to people with legal concel carry weapons. These people are not COWARDS...its just that you are an opinioniated IDIOT!!!!! Sorry I've tried in the past to reason with you to see if you can conduct yourself in a civil manner but I guess you can not. So I will reply to you in the manner to which you are accustomed to. you are a coward. If you pissed off a former employee, then have enough guts to carry a weapon where everyone can see it. Let people know that you are so insecure that you need to carry a weapon. I got mine in 2007 after being stalked by a female counselee on the internet and by phone.
The drill was pretty simple, take an NRA basic pistol course from a certified instructor at a cost of about $100, plus or minus, depending on the instructor, and then apply.
In a city or town with a police department, the permit is generally granted by the chief of police.
In towns with no police chief, in unorganized plantations or territories and for all non-residents, the permit is issued by the chief of the Maine State Police.
I got mine in 2007 and must renew it again next year.
I don't carry illegally.
