Support a public option

I'm writing this letter to publicly urge Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe to support a public option component in the upcoming health care reform bill in Washington. According to Families USA, more than 118,000 Mainers lack health care coverage; health insurance premiums in Maine have increased 89 percent since 2000; and last year, 2,853 bankruptcies occurred in Maine, with more than half stemming from health care costs.

What's wrong with this picture? The solution to our health care problems in the United States can be attributed to one decisive factor, greed. Specifically, the greed of health care administration, insurance companies and trial lawyers to name but a few.

By supporting a public health insurance option senators Snowe and Collins will allow public health insurance to compete fairly and squarely against the private health insurance industry which has put the people of the state of Maine, including small business, in jeopardy.

Rep. Brian Bolduc, Auburn

You all know that private

You all know that private insurance companies will not be able to compete with the government so that means government run health care for all. I for one don't want the government involved in my health care. I think that Obama is the biggest socialist leftist going. Sure maybe we need some reforms but big brother in our face is not the answer,

Of course that means you're

Of course that means you're going to turn down Medicare if you make it that long, right?

I've got an assignment for

I've got an assignment for anyone stupid, naive, or jsut uninformed enough to believe that this 'refoem' is what the country needs. Read this article
(http://townhall.com/columnists/DennisPrager/2009/07/28/10_questions_for_...) And answer the questions, especially the last one.

Prager, really? Why not Beck or Savage? Looks like you've completed your own assignment.

Of course Lil's arguments

Of course Lil's arguments are out of whack and bizarre, it's how libs argue. She has no idea what is in the messiah's reform bill, and neither does he. No one has read this bill, but the parts that come out are truly disturbing. Fines if you don't provide health insurance for employees up to as much as 8% of your payroll. Where exactly in the Constitution does it give the federal government the authority to force employers to offer health insurance? That's fine, go look, I'll wait. You're back? Isn't in there is it? You can admit it, it's OK. While you were looking you didn't find the authority to do any of this in there did you? No, of course you didn't. Snowe and Collins owe it to their constituents to, at the very least, postpone a vote until all members have thoroughly read and understood the contents of this illegal tome. Here's another question. Why so big? Over 1000 pages. Ha! It was a trick question, I already know the answer. The boy king has learned well from his tutelage by Mr Alinsky. Overwhelm is the key. Create a crisis, then overwhelm the people with lawsuits, or town hall meetings, or ungodly sized legislation, then push, push, push to get it passed before anyone knows what's going on. So far it has worked for the chosen one, but if we're lucky, it will stop here. I Hope He Fails!!!!!!!

Don't forget all the people

Don't forget all the people who play by all of the rules and do everything right. They work hard, pay their bills on time, and have decent health insurance. Then they come down with cancer, and the insurance company cuts off their coverage because they failed to mention they had a pimple when they were 14. Or consider the diabetic who goes in for surgery and they take off the wrong leg. That person should have no recourse?

Lil's examples are bizarre.

Lil's examples are bizarre. The first can't happen in Maine by legislative fiat. The second ... How often does that happen in Maine? If it's your leg, it's too often. Otherwise, is a leg worth $100 million or more? I could get by for the rest of my life known as Peg-Leg on less than a tenth of that amount. Whatever the amount, it is just spread out as premium increases to all of us who play by the rules. We have no recourse.

How do these people get

How do these people get elected? I would surmise that when they vote to cut off funding for education and put that money towards social services, they dumb down the sheeple. "We will do it all for you, just let us do it, don't ask questions". There are many reasons why healthcare is so expensive. Lawyers, for one. If there was a cap on compensation from stupid law suits. Health care is not a right it is a privalage. just like voteing and driving a car. If you don't work hard, and provide for yourself, and your family, then you don't have those things. Did the founders of our country worry if everybody had health coverage? I would think not. They would be sickened by the way we have become, I know I am. Just look around you while you are out and see what is going on. Gone are the days of taking care of yourself, sad.... very sad.

Pure brilliance! "If there

Pure brilliance! "If there was a cap on compensation from stupid law suits." You support compensating people for stupid lawsuits? I think most judges throw out the stupid ones, but giving more people the incentive to file stupid lawsuits? Brilliant!

I forgot to add that has

I forgot to add that has anyone noticed that our elected Congress Reps and Senators are going to be exempt from the current bill requirements. In other words, the bill will be good enough for you and I, but not good enough for them.

How will they be exempt?

How will they be exempt? They get their coverage through their employer, right?

Health care needs to be

Health care needs to be revised and made available to more people. This doesn't mean just because you live in the US you have full medical insurance. It would be a wonderful thing if everyone did. I personally have a family member who has never had medical insurance by choice. He is presently self employed and if he has a medical problem tell the hospital what he can afford to pay and they accept it. The present medical bill would force him to either buy insurance or pay a fine to the government. He would have to pay, whereas someone who couldn't afford to buy insurance would get it free. This means all the illegals and poor who now get only emergency treatment would now get full medical benefits. I don't know why some people can't accept the fact that there are people who are jobless, homeless, and have no medical insurance by THEIR CHOICE. Then their are others who are just looking for a FREE RIDE through life. I worked and paid for my health benefits, I think others should work and pay for theirs also.

Rep Bolduc conveniently left

Rep Bolduc conveniently left off his list the greediest of them all: the Maine legislature. They imposed the raft of mandates on insurance companies, leading directly to the upward cost spiral, due to the complete lack of competition, all engineered by the boneheads we keep sending to Augusta.

Today's solution, obvious to nearly all Democrats, is: GO NATIONAL! ObamaCare is just DirigoHealth writ large. And the reasoning (and I use the term loosely) is exactly the same: We don't know what it does, because we can't be bothered to read it, but we know for sure that all them private things are evil and our grand plan will will save the country, if we just throw enough money at it.

If it were not for mandates

If it were not for mandates there would be no insurance coverage for Mammograms or many other wellness checks.

Rep. Bolduc has clearly been

Rep. Bolduc has clearly been drinking the ObamaCare kool-aid and doesn't seem to care about the facts. Yes, we clearly need to reform our health insurance industry. Since ObamaCare would put the government in charge of health-related decisions for our loved ones, we cannot let that happen. In addition, there is no reason why tax dollars should be used to give illegal aliens free healthcare. They should all get arrested and shipped home! While Obama might believe abortion is a good thing, he has no right to steal my tax dollars and use them for such a sinful act. Shame on Obama and all of his liberal buddies! Lookout, here comes the ACORN crowd...

I have met Bolduc several

I have met Bolduc several times since he unfortunately is my rep in augusta. he is a clueless dolt. the problem is tort reform and the ambluance chasing lawyers. no one is denied health care today due to lack of insurance, but under obamacare lots of people with insurance will be denied care starting with the elderly, those with terminal illnesses, dementia, or people needing long term care. anybody have family members that fall in those catagories? then get ready to watch them die. although there is a provision in obamacare that offers counseling for ending your lfe. mmmm now thats compassion.
