As a Republican, I voted for Barack Obama, and when re-election comes around again, my vote will be cast for Obama. The sad part is that, as a Republican, many will label me as a liberal and as a traitor to the United States.
Just look at the nation's recent past, however, and there will be major stumbling blocks to overcome: the war in Iraq; dissension after the Reagan administration; and outright cowardice in axis of evil claims. All that while the stock market tumbled and conservative-supported deregulation took place. The old guard of Reagan crusaders are considered much too liberal for their newer conservative counterparts.
Instead of embracing the same standards of Republicans and Democrats working together, conservatives took the people for chattel and then treated them like cattle, all the while expecting to be embraced. We cannot be Republicans without voting along the party standards.
As an American, I am never going to vote the party lines. I have my voice and my right to vote, and it is as an American that I decide which candidates to vote for.
Neither Democrat nor Green, I am a Republican, and I vote for whom I want, not for propagandists.

That also ends coverage for Mainers with cancer, HIV/AIDS, and several other medical conditions such as mental illness.
For Pirate to refute that as well as Son Of that means understanding that those with mental illness who are denied will commit suicide which is a dark and rather depressing angle but since LePage has volunteered that information himself on his website that is not a misquote. If you want to know what makes me such a staunch supporter my grandmother suffered and died of cancer, my fiancee watched as a classmates parents died of AIDS, and as for mental illness it will always be there and tough love or gruff love does not work in that environment. Pirate that would mean that after five years the assistance for drugs in medical conditions would be denied in a controlled Conservative State in a Union of Communism which grants death after five years correct? Of, course as for cutting budgets in the school districts that appears to be some of the greatest manipulations of forming the early suicide rates of teenagers and younger classmates due to not having the supports in place. Pirate for educational factors there have been arrests in Conservative schools due to manipulations in charters as well to place higher then usual testing candidacy for children.
Watch the intellectual responses on this one there will not be one such as the others which will not debate the corruption of the Bush administration. It will boil down to the simplistic Communist rhetoric which is espoused everyday by so called Tea Party members. Five years and the suicide rates will climb higher and higher, along with deaths from preventable conditions, and the limits imposed by a sacationed City-State government to review medical conditions... smells like communism to me!

I don’t oppose all wars. And I know that in this crowd today, there is no shortage of patriots, or of patriotism. What I am opposed to is a dumb war. What I am opposed to is a rash war. What I am opposed to is the cynical attempt by Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz and other arm-chair, weekend warriors in this Administration to shove their own ideological agendas down our throats, irrespective of the costs in lives lost and in hardships borne.
What I am opposed to is the attempt by political hacks like Karl Rove to distract us from a rise in the uninsured, a rise in the poverty rate, a drop in the median income — to distract us from corporate scandals and a stock market that has just gone through the worst month since the Great Depression.
That’s what I’m opposed to. A dumb war. A rash war. A war based not on reason but on passion, not on principle but on politics.
Now let me be clear — I suffer no illusions about Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal man. A ruthless man. A man who butchers his own people to secure his own power. He has repeatedly defied UN resolutions, thwarted UN inspection teams, developed chemical and biological weapons, and coveted nuclear capacity.
He’s a bad guy. The world, and the Iraqi people, would be better off without him.
But I also know that Saddam poses no imminent and direct threat to the United States, or to his neighbors, that the Iraqi economy is in shambles, that the Iraqi military a fraction of its former strength, and that in concert with the international community he can be contained until, in the way of all petty dictators, he falls away into the dustbin of history.
I know that even a successful war against Iraq will require a US occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences. I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of al-Qaeda.
I am not opposed to all wars. I’m opposed to dumb wars.
So for those of us who seek a more just and secure world for our children, let us send a clear message to the president today. You want a fight, President Bush? Let’s finish the fight with Bin Laden and al-Qaeda, through effective, coordinated intelligence, and a shutting down of the financial networks that support terrorism, and a homeland security program that involves more than color-coded warnings.
You want a fight, President Bush? Let’s fight to make sure that the UN inspectors can do their work, and that we vigorously enforce a non-proliferation treaty, and that former enemies and current allies like Russia safeguard and ultimately eliminate their stores of nuclear material, and that nations like Pakistan and India never use the terrible weapons already in their possession, and that the arms merchants in our own country stop feeding the countless wars that rage across the globe.
You want a fight, President Bush? Let’s fight to make sure our so-called allies in the Middle East, the Saudis and the Egyptians, stop oppressing their own people, and suppressing dissent, and tolerating corruption and inequality, and mismanaging their economies so that their youth grow up without education, without prospects, without hope, the ready recruits of terrorist cells.
You want a fight, President Bush? Let’s fight to wean ourselves off Middle East oil, through an energy policy that doesn’t simply serve the interests of Exxon and Mobil.
Those are the battles that we need to fight. Those are the battles that we willingly join. The battles against ignorance and intolerance, corruption and greed, poverty and despair.
The consequences of war are dire, the sacrifices immeasurable. We may have occasion in our lifetime to once again rise up in defense of our freedom, and pay the wages of war. But we ought not — we will not — travel down that hellish path blindly. Nor should we allow those who would march off and pay the ultimate sacrifice, who would prove the full measure of devotion with their blood, to make such an awful sacrifice in vain."

When I advocated for Huckabee it was the standing line for basically being left behind by the party and having his tax reforms being considered to liberal. Through all of the reforms and the social welfare programs and hiring practices being reformed for those of us with disabilities the Republicans pretty much left him behind. When you look at it from the same perspective it is a very lonely portion in the Republican party with Aspergers it is hard but with Huckabee and the reform practices it would have been easier to fit into society which again was considered to liberal for most. Considering his old guard stance he had on education in not eliminating any of the budget that was also considered to liberal for some Republicans. I see Fox does promote him but stays at arms length with much on his dictations.

Please read the 2010 Maine Republican Platform. Then see if you can define yourself as a Republican. The Republican Party has always had a completely loonny minority. I agree with you Veritas the current Republican party is built on no. I've read Nixon books and my beliefs are that the dangerous downward spiral we are in is simply based on no interactions due to the split and deep divides in the parties. The rhetoric which is formidably biased on the Neo-Conservative tide has deep implications of racism and disparity of racial beliefs. In that ending we see the once praised Governor Perry for what he truly was a coward in office who even with DNA evidence refused to exonerate a man and let him die behind bars. With that implication in mind Perry embraced the Tea Party. When I see others distinguishing themselves as such and as Colonial remember under Colonialism it was legal to commit genocide which the United States had done toward Jews, labor unions, and Native-Americans in the past.
In that we must remember what Nixon had said in not disregarding history but remembering it for all the good and bad that has been done in history. And, unlike Newt Gingrich's take we cannot rewrite the laws for our own historical overture the realistic implications allow history to repeat itself. The contextual emphasis of Gingrich's works having read two of his political memoirs are simply and explicitly rewriting history and having America as the hand of God. The just say no attitudes which he imposes work on the deregulation front and what that has done for us. Without having an emphasis on regulation we learned from the errors of the Bush administration. Yet, somehow there are those who will continually say that it works, and when they are faced with the subtle implications of rewriting history they do not care.
Rush Limbaugh called for the eliminations of multiculturalism in the classroom which means discrediting those who work hard in households of wisdom, honor, and religion. Which eliminates several of the Religious ideologies in America and as a Christian I must say our multiculturalism runs deep in communities. In that arc and era it would mean the Conservatives falling down on their swords and imposing State sanctioned city-states controlled by a main board of speakers and dare I say a system of Communist outlets in voting. Which would systematically control what is taught in schools, churches, and colleges the very definitions of Marxism found in a populace which express their beliefs that there hardly exists a relating line. Since the Tea Party expresses such discontent with the current systems and the needs to focus on and control those it proves that there little more then Communist sympathizers toward the central vents of total government control.
