let em' be.

ah, well yes they should be wearing life jackets but seriously I say let em be. Why do the majority of people who comment on here must always be negative and not see the good that could potentially come out of this? My guess is that none of you have ever road on Wilson lake in a boat and encountered drunken boaters.

Dog

What are you afraid of Dog? You worried that they may catch you driving your boat drunk? I think this is a great thing. Fryeburg PD patrols the Saco River with boats and have saved a number of people from flipped canoes to almost drowning. I commend the Wilton PD for taking up this task as the Maine IFW is stretched thin and can not be on all the waters at once. Again Great job. And just to let you know Dog, the police or anyone else for that matter can watch your property from the water or roads and they can even take pictures of your house, cars, or ou for that matter and there is nothing you can do...Its all legal. they can even video tape everything...ALL LEGAL. The thing is, if you don't do anything wrong, then you should not have to worry about it...Obviously you must do things that are not legal...They want to watch my house I say go ahead. At least I know at that point that me and my property are safe...Hell I say invite them in for coffee...lol

Cop Boat

Just another way for the cops to invade peoples privacy. Pretty soon they'll be doing backyard patrols too. What statistics in the Town of Wilton determined the need for this ridiculous patrol boat? You know they're only looking to make trouble, out of what's been innocently going on on the water for years........nothing but good clean fun. You'd better be on the lookout all you camp owners on the lake, for these idiots with their binoculars checking out your backyards. Just a bunch of overglorified peeping toms.

unnessary tax payers money

I really think its unnessary for wilton police department to patrol the area in a boat!! just costing more tax payers money. Dont we pay enough taxes in wilton , not let alone have them patrol in a boat.. I like how they say saftey first on stuff and they aint wearing life jackets , what a joke. They are really showing saftey there to kids by not wearing the life jackets..lol.
