AUBURN — A rash of car burglaries has prompted police to warn motorists to lock their doors after parking.
Police are investigating a recent spree of burglaries from motor vehicles over the past two weeks in which belongings have been taken overnight from unlocked cars. Among the valuables taken are electronics such as laptops, global positioning systems and loose change.
Police arrested three suspects and filed charges, but the burglaries continued, police said Thursday in a written statement.
All told, motor vehicle burglaries have jumped 24 percent over the past six months, police said.
After parking, motorists should lock their doors and store valuables out of sight, police said.
