CYR PLANTATION, Maine (AP) — The Maine attorney general says a state trooper and Border Patrol agent were justified when they shot and killed a man who leveled a rifle at them as they attempted to arrest him following a domestic disturbance in Cyr Plantation.
The report, released Tuesday, says 55-year-old Neil Begin, was shot once, and then shot a second time after he got up, still wielding the rifle. He died later at a Bangor hospital.
Police recovered a pair of rifles and marijuana from Begin's home.
Officers went to Begin's home on April 23 after he allegedly pointed a loaded rifle at his wife, his adult son and his son's girlfriend the night before. The report says his blood-alcohol content at the hospital was 0.248 percent, three times the limit for driving.

Blood alcohol 3 times the
Blood alcohol 3 times the legal limit, refuses to drop the weapon when asked gets up after first shot still holding the weapon, if thats not justified what the heck is? Stupid response by tron and I don't know whether I'm more concerned that he might need a cop one day or that he'll be the victim of a justified shooting..... read the original reports and you know this was the only way out. Wonder when tron last went on a drive along to see what truly happens to cops, how hard they work to protect us.

not driving, his blood alcohol level is completely irrelevant, but it somehow justifies being blown away by the cops. Guess you better not drink again, booby, the cops would be justified in killing you.

Should he have been left alone after threatening his family with the rifle? of course not. Should of's could have's and such afre no more than "monday morning quarterbacking". The man was reported to have committed a serious crime. The Police Officers properly went to investigate the allegations. Is it their fault that the suspect leveled a rifle at them? I think not, unless you are a simple pot stirrer...
