United States citizens should be outraged by the actions of the federal government for suing the state of Arizona to stop it from enforcing the federal law on illegal immigration. The Obama administration is playing political games in hopes of gaining voters.
The issue is that the federal government has the obligation to deal with immigration problems, not the states; but the feds aren’t doing it. Arizona citizens are being murdered and robbed.
Additionally, tens of thousands of illegals captured through the years were not Mexicans. How many Islamic terrorists weren’t caught?
On a recent bus trip, the driver announced that “federal law prohibits smoking or the use of alcoholic beverages on the bus, and this is enforced by the state police.” Will President Barack Obama and his unscrupulous attorney general sue the state police for enforcing this federal law?
The answer to illegal immigrants is clear: First, secure the border. Then, give the illegals notice that they each must apply for a temporary work visa, which would be limited in number. After a designated period of time, all of those who don’t have it would be deported. Employers who hire immigrants without work visas would be fined heavily. The work visa would not be a guarantee of citizenship, but would give them a chance to work and pay taxes like the rest of us. Immigration officials would then know who they are and where they are. Children of illegals born here should not automatically be citizens.

It's Just Republican Politics: Time to Scare Our "Base"
What's really going on here is that Republicans are facing an election and therefore must scare their "base." This has been going on for decades! Remember during Reagan's time Republicans were screaming about "narco terrorists!" They certainly didn't do very well dealing with the real ones in Afghanistan, now did they. It's amazing how predictable Republicans are. I'm sure if it wasn't them trying to scare their "base" over illegals, then it would be gay marriage, or any number of other things. Hey! Wait! Last summer it was how communists were "taking over" America by seeking to reform medical insurance! Republican politics would be funny if it wasn't so damaging to America.

Do you propose that we secure, between north and south, approximately 8000 miles of border? Fences don't work and the federal budget won't stand placing armed sentries every 100 feet. Electronically securing it costs more than having it physically manned. The only way to really secure the border is to make life in the U.S. so miserable for the aliens without papers that they choose to leave voluntarily.
No food stamps and no welfare, fines for working illegally at both the personal and the business level, immediate eviction from any housing that they occupy as soon as they are found. Fines for legal aliens who harbor illegal ones as well as revocation of citizenship.
Unfortunately, the citizenship thing for children born here would require a constitutional amendment and that isn't likely to happen any time soon. So, in lieu of an amendment, remove the children from their parents and adopt them out to American families if the parents insist that the child is American. The child is, you're not... SEE YA. Or take the child back to wherever it is you came from and when the child reaches 18 they can claim citizenship with proper proof.
Harsh? Probably. Unjust? Maybe. Necessary for the stability of this country? Definitely.

Find out if the owners or corporate officers of those companies have been convicted - sentenced to jail. Probably not. It's not in the corporate interest of business to have that happen. And as long as big money/big business runs America, the jobs are there for illegals.

Liberal? I'm a life-long registered Republican and I happen to agree with the good Doctor's basic position on immigration reform. Perhaps some of those screaming racism can explain to me how keeping people out of this great country who do not belong here out, arresting and deporting those who have entered illegally and such is racism. The last I knew there was no exemption on any race for admission. An illegal could be a white non-hispanic Englishman, Canadian, Irishman, or Scott just the same as a white hispanic Cuban, Chilean, Argentinan, or Mexican. An illegal could be islamic which I believe is a religion not a race and so that is a choice anyone of any race or nationality could make and so racism goes out the window there. The issue is not one of race it is one of NATIONALITY, if you are not a US Citizen or have permission you are illegal NO RACISM involved.

I don't disagree with the premise that illegal immigrants should promptly get the boot back to where they came from; let them apply for legal entry just like everyone else.
What I can't stand, however, is Dr. Thomas F. Partisanship (and his little disciple Pirate, who has mastered the Fox News talking points just like Sarah Palin) who approach every situation with their "because I hate liberals" mentality instead of reason and rational thought.
As a Republican, I'm concerned that the rationale for immigration reform (and other conservative positions) are being contaminated by the partisan wackos in my own party. Instead of winning over the liberals, you are just alienating them. Spewing your rants at someone will never win them over.

I agree with you that we should enforce current laws first, change laws that need to be changed and fine companies who break the law, not just deport the ILLEGAL immigrants. The biggest problem you'll have on this blog is the loonies refusal to acknowledge that some immigrants are here ILLEGALLY. Until they can understand and agree to that distinction it will do no good to try to make change - you best hope would be to ask each liberal to house 3-4 ILLEGAL imigrants at their home and at their cost and see if that changes their mind.

Mr. Obama thinks he is above the law by suing Arizona.His pandering to the illegals who commit identity fraud or violent crimes all in the name of cheap labor is appalling. Actually is it not a crime to sell a social security number but using another person's social security number is a felony. For a few hundred dollars your social security number is for sale. In the swift meat packing case according to the government "hundred of identity's of American citizens were stolen in fact some had genuine birth certificates." "Stolen identities and stolen social security numbers are critical to those who seek to be employed in this country unlawfully". So think about this, for cheap labor that benefits companies, a job is taken away from a united states citizen,an identity and vital information from an American citizen is stolen.
