"Every day I come out and survey my domain" said George Vasel as he looked out into the yard where he has lived all his life on Route 196 in Lisbon. "I was born inside the house — no hospitals in those days — and we went to Sears to get our chicks. Kept them behind the stove until they were big enough to go in the coop. We were a one-cow farm." He did enlist in the service several times and had a stint of teaching out of town, but has returned to enjoy retirement in his family home. "I never got married," the consummate bachelor said, "but I'm still looking."

OOPS
